Secure custody of digital assets is one of the biggest unsolved technology and UX problems in the blockchain space. Seed phrases are often misplaced, lost, or stolen by attackers. This leads to billions of dollars worth of crypto assets each year being stolen or lost. This kind of asymmetric risk is a major obstacle to adoption for average users and enterprises.

At Chia Network Inc., we approached this problem by separating the keys needed to sign and submit a transaction from the creation of a transaction. Securing the keys inside the Secure Enclave of an Apple device instead of on a piece of paper or metal presents a much better interface for securing and managing keys.
